A rugged beast with a very pleasing appearance

Stress tests
The first durability test we’ll put this Tank T6 through is the water test. Although at this point it’s hardly necessary, since practically most of the smartwatches currently on the market feature this protection. We aren't talking about a watch running a full version of Android, which I would never recommend submerging in water... unless you’re really keen on getting rid of them.
So, let's give it a few dunks! The first immersion is as simple as putting it in a container full of water, and we can confirm that it survives. However, something I already noticed with the Tank T5 is that, while submerged, the touchscreen interaction won't work or will be very glitchy. Just a little something to improve in future models, guys!
Given that it was summer and the weather was hot, another test obviously had to take place in the pool. The fact is that 80% of the time I was in the pool, I had the watch in my wrist, so we could say that the watch spent a pretty cool summer. Whenever I submerged it in the pool, it kept working perfectly, without any problem, and its performance never suffered at any point.
And not just in the pool. We could say the watch has been exposed to plenty of water. I’ve worn it while washing my hands, while doing the dishes, while taking showers, and it’s even taken direct sprays from some fountains. and it has always withstood the water without any issues.
So, the first test, the water resistance, passed.
Now let's look see another water-related test, but at a more extreme level. Like the T5, this T6 supposedly withstands very cold temperatures. So, I couldn't help myself. I had to freeze it. I put the smartwatch in a container filled with water, and left it in the freezer for a whole day.
When I took it out, our Tank T6 was trapped inside a nice block of ice. I took that block of ice and threw it against the ground a couple of times to weaken it a bit (I have to say I failed: it didn't weaken as much as I wanted).
Next, to weaken it further, I gave it a few whacks with a hammer, and last I put the remaining ice in the sink while running lukewarm water over it. Once free from its icy prison, the watch kept working without any issues, despite having endured very low temperatures.
Although I must say that this test caused some minor collateral damage, because the base of the watch shows some marks. These marks were caused by the freezing.
So, the second test, freezing in ice, also passed.
Let's move on to another test: the screen durability. According to the manufacturer's information, the screen features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, which although this belongs to a much older version than the current ones, it offers good scratch protection.
And believe me, I’ve seen smartwatches with screens that had more scars than Wolverine’s suit. Here is an example: a Haylou Solar whose screen, as you can see, has had its fair share of suffering. In fact, my sister had this very same smartwatch, and the screen glass shattered after a fall of less than a meter.
I also used two types of screwdrivers: a flathead and a Phillips. In both cases, the screen held up and didn't suffer any marks or scratches.
So, I decided to up the ante and used a nail and a screw, which have sharper points than knives or screwdrivers. The result was no different, and in both cases, the screen glass completely ignored what I had done.
And just as I did when I tested the Tank T5, I decided to use a box cutter on the glass as well, and the same thing happened as in the previous tests. After running the blade over the screen several times, the glass remained intact.
I also I wanted to hit the screen a few times, so I grabbed a hammer I have at home and proceeded to strike the screen repeatedly using both ends, and the only thing that happened was that the screen lit up as if I was touching it with my finger. But not even the slightest crack appeared.
Let's be clear: a person with a mind that is not sick isn't going to start bashing a smartwatch as if trying to smash a rock with a hammer "just because." So, there was no need to strike the glass as if I was fighting Conor McGregor. But in other watches like my Haylou Solar or this Kospet Prime 2, the glass wouldn't have survived something as simple as what I just mentioned.
And since I was in a rural area for the summer, I decided to go take a little walk and look for a high spot to... well, I had to drop the watch from some height, right? So I headed to an area near a river, where there were two perfect spots to run this test. I climbed up to the first one and let the watch take a little flight with a more-than-questionable landing. When I went down to pick it up, the screen was intact. There was no damage whatsoever, and it was working perfectly.
I moved up to the second spot, and I also let him feel a bit free in the air. Once again, I went down to check if it had survived, and I realized my aim hadn't been quite right, and the landing zone was, we could say, softer than the previous one. So, the height was higher but the hardness of the impact was likely cushioned a bit. During this second unpowered flight, the smartwatch also held up and didn't suffer any damage.
In fact, you can see now that the watch body shows no marks or scratches from these falls.
I have to say it again: someone with a sane mind obviously isn't going to buy a smartwatch just to throw it on hillsides, windows, or drop it from significant heights just for fun. These tests are just to prove that the Tank T6 is durable if you take it hiking, adventuring, or climbing, and it suffers accidental drops or knocks.
So the third test, the screen durability, also been passed.
And now comes a test I loved doing last year with the Tank T5 and I couldn't and didn't want to resist doing again: the car test. In the promotional videos from the guys at KKTICK and DT No.1, the smartwatch withstands having a car drive over it. So, I once again called upon the friend who helped me last year (thanks a lot, Carlos), and we drove the car over the Tank T6. And again, just like last year, we did it not once, but twice: the first time for this video and the second one for an Instagram Reel. The smartwatch withstood the weight of the car driving over it and continued to work perfectly, without any issues.
And I’m sure you’ve noticed something in the pictures, and you’re probably wondering why I placed this foam under the smartwatch.
I did this to avoid some collateral damage that I knew would occur. Because as you can see in the Tank T5 I ran over with the car last year, the weight caused marks and damage to the base. This is normal because if there is a small stone, a grain of sand that is quite hard, or some kind of surface imperfection, since floors are never completely smooth, almost any metal will end up with some kind of mark due to the weight. And since I have plans for this unit they sent to me for the durability tests, I preferred not to leave marks on the base.
So the last test, the car crush, also passed.
Conclusions
A year ago, the teams at KKTICK and DT No.1 scored a win by entering the market for rugged smartwatches that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable, since, until then, their devices shared the same drawback as those from other manufacturers: the durability and ruggedness. Now, with the Tank T6, they have managed that a smartwatch that offers solid durability can also be far more stylish and elegant. It is no longer just a rugged smartwatch built to withstand harsh conditions, and they have refined the watch's appearance so that, beyond looking sporty, it can also be worn in situations where we leave that style and get more formal.
Its performance in durability tests has been completely satisfactory. Whether underwater or frozen, during screen-bashing or drops, and even when a car ran over it, it came through unscathed, with its functionality completely unaffected.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a smartwatch that is robust and durable, capable of withstanding the harshest conditions, but you also want a device with an elegant aesthetic and a very pleasing style, as well as functionality and solid tracking for your workouts and health data, then this KKTICK Tank T6 is an excellent choice.
